Qusta storia del divieto di usare i preservativi, in generale, ma soprattutto nelle strategie di prevenzione dell'HIV, mi manda ai pazzi.
Padre Federico Lombardi, S.I., direttore della Sala Stampa della Santa Sede, dichiara: "le politiche di risposta all'Aids fondate principalmente sulla diffusione dei preservativi sono largamente fallite."
Anthony Fauci, Direttore del NIAID, la massima autorità istituzionale americana in tema di AIDS, dice il 10 giugno 2008 davanti all'Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite queste altre cose:
“Treatment alone is not the solution to the problem", the solution is prevention".
“The treatment and care of people with HIV cannot be done in a vacuum, but must be implemented in the context of their overall health needs.”

On the subject of prevention, Fauci cited numerous available, scientifically proven approaches: condom distribution, prevention of HIV transmission from mother to baby; the provision of clean needles and syringes to drug users and—most recently—medically supervised adult male circumcision. However, he said only one-fifth of people at risk of HIV infection have access to these services.
Quanto tempo ancora dovrà passare - leggi, quanti morti (e parliamo di milioni) - perché succeda qualcosa?
